History Professor Elected Chair of National Council

Fritz Fischer, professor of History, was elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Council for History Education (NCHE). The council is the nation’s largest membership organization dedicated to promoting the importance of history in schools and in society. NCHE links history in the schools with many activities sponsored by state and local organizations, provides a communications network for all advocates of history education and is a national leader in providing professional development for history educators.
