Specialist in economic education, in particular, the application of the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) to improve teaching and learning, and the impact of microfinance on economic development. Has held positions as a journalist for Colorado newspapers, staff member of former U.S. Sen. Gary Hart, and was owner of a bed and breakfast in Fort Collins. Doctoral dissertation related to agricultural development and nutrition in Africa. Climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in 1971.
