Specialist in the training and education of counselors, counselor supervision, counseling children and adolescents, social privilege and oppression, and mentorship and mentoring practices. Co-recipient of the 2002 College of Education Teaching Award; recipient of the 2010 College of Education and Behavioral Sciences Teaching Award, and winner of the Colorado Child and Adolescent Mental Health Coalition 1997 Exemplary Mental Health Administrator Award. Co-editor of the journal of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
