The UNC Police Department's annual auction of abandoned bicycles will be held rain or shine beginning at noon Friday, Sept. 28, on the northwest corner of B Lot. Bikes will be available for viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. The auction is open to all members of the university community and the general public.
Bikes will be sold to the highest bidder.

UNC's International Film Series continues this week with filmmaker Josh Fox's Oscar-nominated documentary Gasland showing at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, and 7 and 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, in Michener Library's Lindou Auditorium ( L110). Fox will speak on campus Nov. 15 as part of the Schulze Speaker Series.
Admission is free for UNC students and $3 for all others. Tickets can be purchased at the auditorium 15 minutes before each screening.

The Student Health Center has scheduled on-site flu shot and meningitis vaccination clinics in several campus locations during October and early-November. The next one is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in Weibking Hall. The flu shot costs $25 and can be paid for with cash or check. The meningitis vaccination is free and those receiving it should plan on spending an additional 15 minutes at the clinic site. The locations, dates and times of the remaining clinics are:

CETL will host a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning fall semester kick-off event from noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in Candelaria 1375.
The information session will include a review of previous SoTL initiatives, exploration of new avenues and ways to support participants' conceptualization and development of SoTL at UNC and discussion of options for dissemination and participation of SoTL at local or national levels.
The session will be facilitated by Teaching and Learning Fellow Robert Reinsvold and Associate Director for Faculty Development Deborah Romero.
Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP in advance by emailing CETL. The deadline for RSVPs is noon on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
