Sidewalk and Curb Replacement to Begin July 7

Beginning next week, contractors will be removing and replacing damaged concrete curbs in parking lots as well as damaged and hazardous portions of sidewalks across central campus.

Please be aware of and don't use parking spaces that are blocked by cones for the day, which will allow better access for the contractor and protect vehicles from unnecessary damage.

When traveling on sidewalks around campus, be aware of signage and barricades closing areas under construction for everyone's safety.

About UNC’s Participation at Greeley Stampede Events

After weighing the time and expense involved in participating in the Greeley Stampede parade against the benefits of that participation, instead of an entry in the parade, UNC this year will focus its resources on being one of the sponsors of the Stampede, which includes the following strategies:

  • Scholarships Drawing: The drawing is being publicized in the official Stampede program, on the event's website and social media pages, and through public address announcements and banners at various events in the Stampede arena. Click here for details.
  • A 30-second video promoting UNC will be broadcast on the arena's big-screen TV during events.

Additionally, UNC Catering has been contracted to cater two different private Stampede dinners, each of which will be attended by more than 750 people, and numerous UNC employees are volunteering their time at the Stampede.

Also, don't forget that all UNC employees, retirees and their immediate household family members are invited to view the Stampede Independence Day Parade from free reserved bleacher seating in front of the UNC Visitors Center on the east side of 10th Avenue. Be prepared to show your UNC Card if requested.
