Two Departments Combine into Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education

The Counseling Psychology Department and the Counselor Education and Supervision Department within the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences have reorganized into the new Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education.

Heather Helm, who chaired the Counselor Education program, is the chair of the new department.

The following academic programs are included in the reorganization:

  • Ph.D. Counseling Psychology
  • Ph.D. Counselor Education and Supervision
  • MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling
  • MA School Counseling
  • MA Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling/Therapy

High Business Volumes at Holmes Dining Hall July 18-20

Holmes Dining Hall is expected to experience high business volume at dinner Thursday, July 18, breakfast, lunch and dinner Friday, July 19, and breakfast, Saturday, July 20.

If you would like to avoid the expected long lines and limited seating during these times, you're welcome to eat early or dine at the University Center Food Court.

Please remember to check the closures schedule on the Dining Services website to see changes in Holmes' and the UC Food Court's availability and hours.

5K Run/Walk to Benefit Colorado Combined Campaign

The Colorado Combined Campaign, the payroll-deduction program for state employees that supports 700 charities and in which UNC participates every year, will host a fun 5K run/walk to benefit those charities Aug. 10 in Denver.

The Together Colorado Fun 5K Run/Walk at Sloan's Lake Park begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. Entry fees are $30 for adults, $15 for those 7-18 years old and complimentary for children 6 and younger. All proceeds benefit the CCC's charities.

In addition to the race, there'll be fun activities for the whole family including prizes, an appearance by Miles, the Colorado Rapids' mascot, and a Rapids inflatable soccer field.
