Location Changed for Open Forum for Assistant Director of Housing Services Candidate

The location for the forum from 11-11:45 a.m. today, July 16, for Myles Coulter, a candidate for the open position of assistant director of Housing Services, has been changed to the Gunter Hall conference room. The forum is open to all members of the university community. Copies of the candidate's resume will be available at the forum.

Open Forums for Assistant Dean of Students Position Continue

Open forums for candidates for the position of Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Community Standards and Conflict Resolution continue tomorrow, July 17, and all members of the campus community are invited to attend and provide input. The schedule of forums is:

  • Wednesday, July 17; 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Ross 1090 - Larry Loften
  • Thursday, July 18; 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Student Activities Office Lobby (UC) - Jill Koslosky

The position will administer the student discipline process, communicating and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct; serve as a university hearing officer, adjudicating cases of academic and non-academic misconduct; facilitate conflict resolution processes; serve as a resource to the university community and campus and local law enforcement agencies regarding student conduct issues and potential conflict; assess the effectiveness of the conduct process; coordinate educational programming on student rights and responsibilities; assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Workshop Proposals Sought for Graduate Teaching Assistant Conference

The Graduate School seeks workshop proposals from faculty and staff interested in helping train first-time and experienced graduate teaching assistants during its annual Graduate Teaching Assistant Conference on Wednesday, Aug. 21, with a proposal submission deadline of noon Wednesday, July 24.
Workshop presentations lasting one hour and designed to prepare and inspire GTAs for t

upcoming academic year can be arranged for either a morning or afternoon session. Topics can include classroom preparation, innovative instructional strategies, pedagogy, classroom experiences, effective use of technology in teaching, facilitating dialogue, grading, classroom conflict, and extending learning beyond the textbook.

Conference organizers hope to tailor instruction during the conference to TAs' levels of experience and knowledge, i.e., beginner, intermediate or advanced.

If you'd like to share your teaching experience, skills and tips, complete the online proposal form by noon July 24.

Tickets Going Fast for Alumni Association at the Colorado Rockies July 28

Only about 20 tickets are left if you want to enjoy a catered picnic-style buffet before watching the Colorado Rockies take on the Milwaukee Brewers at Coors Field, Sunday July 28. Tickets are $40 for ages 13 and older, $25 for children 5-12 and free for those 4 and younger, and include the picnic lunch, game ticket and a game-day goodie bag. Seats are in the Outfield Box Section 144.

The buffet menu will include fried chicken, grilled hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, a variety of side dishes and unlimited Coke products. A vegetarian meal can be provided. A cash bar will be available.
