Environmental Impact of High Park Fire

UNC's Office of Environmental Health and Safety would like to point out resources for the campus community regarding the High Park fire as it relates to its impact on water and air quality in Greeley:

Water: Greeley's drinking water comes from areas within the High Park fire boundaries. At this time, the quality of the treated drinking water is not affected and remains safe to drink. Over time it's possible that runoff could cause a smoky taste or odor in the water, which, again, would not affect safety. If residents notice a change in flavor or odor in their tap water, they can call (970) 351-9811 to report it. The city has posted a 17-minute video presentation that provides more details at: www.greeleygov.com/gtv8live

Air quality: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment provides a summary of air quality in Colorado. Visit http://www.colorado.gov/airquality/colorado_summary.aspx to get updates including advisories
