When publicizing an on-campus event or co-sponsoring one with an off-campus entity that's helping with the publicity, make sure that the correct information for the event's location is used and not UNC's mailing/shipping address (501 20th St.), which sometimes shows up in online search results.
Because some campus buildings' locations make seeing (or even assigning) a street address difficult, use UNC's new online map to locate the nearest major intersection to a building.
For example, Michener Library uses "14th Ave. & 20th St." to describe its general location. Be sure to activate the map's building and street name layers by clicking on them in the Layers menu. If you want to locate the name of the nearest parking lot, also click on the parking lot layer.
Plans for updated building signs on campus include their street addresses.

The Center for International Education is looking for faculty and staff interested in joining its International Ambassadors Program by volunteering to help UNC international graduate students adjust to living in the United States.
The International Ambassador Program focuses on creating a mutual learning opportunity between Americans and international students. Ambassadors help international students' adjustment to living in the United States by providing both support and friendship through correspondence that begins even before international students arrive on campus.
In return, international students have the opportunity to share their unique cultures, experiences and perspectives with their domestic mentors. Through this collaboration, both mentors and international students enhance their intercultural communication, leadership and global awareness skills.
If you're interested in making a difference and becoming a part of the International Ambassador Program, please complete this application on the CIE website and return it to email@example.com.
