Provost Robbyn Wacker is accepting nominations for the M. Lucile Harrison Award, UNC's highest honor for faculty. The award, which will be presented at spring commencement, recognizes a faculty member with a long career of professional excellence.
Nominations are due in the Provost's office by Monday, March 4, and should include a nomination letter, two additional letters of support and a vita. Electronic submissions can be sent to the Office of the Provost.

UNC's Monfort College of Business and School of Mathematical Sciences have launched the Great App Design Contest to help promote the Software Engineering major the two entities are collaborating to offer beginning in the fall. The Community and Civic Engagement Committee invites all members of the university community to comment and provide written feedback on a draft of the CCE plan that's now available for review and downloading on the CCE website. Deadline for feedback and comments is midnight, Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Please help in the development of a comprehensive and effective plan by encouraging your colleagues to provide their input.

If you're planning on attending the 2013 Assessment Fair on Tuesday, Feb 26, register for the luncheon, which features a presentation by Provost Robbyn Wacker on the importance of assessment for improvement at UNC, by Monday, Feb. 18, by contacting CETL, 351-2885.
The fair, which runs from 9:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the University Center's Panorama room, also will include presentations from faculty and staff.

Proposals to present at UNC's annual Research Day on Thursday, April 11, are now being accepted, with a deadline of midnight on Thursday, March 14. All undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research or other scholarly projects are welcome to present at Research Day, and faculty are encouraged to ask their students to participate.
Presentation proposals must be submitted through Ursa using the web-based form located in the Research Day 2013 box on the Student, Employee and Faculty tabs.
