The Graduate School this week announced the recipients of the Graduate Dean's awards recognizing superior academic achievement and outstanding research in graduate studies. The winners, who will be honored at Friday's Graduate School commencement ceremony, are:
The deadline for submitting final grades for fall semester courses is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.19. Grades submitted after the deadline will negatively affect students' financial aid or graduation. Please direct questions to Michelle Heiny in the Registrar's Office, 351-1839. Grade explanations and instructions for assigning final grades are available on the Registrar's website.

Information Management and Technology will be performing maintenance on BearDrive from 6 a.m.-noon Monday, Dec.17. Users will not be able to access documents stored on BearDrive during that time. A new edition of Bear Crossing (formerly called Inside UNC) is now available online. Published monthly by UNCs Office of News and Public Relations, the electronic newsletter's main focus is to provide the university's external audiences with a compilation of information about student, faculty and staff accomplishments; general university news; and Alumni Association and Athletics news and events.

All members of the university community are invited to take part in a discussion led by Human Resources Director Marshall Parks about bullying in the workplace at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the University Center Council room. The discussion will be part of the Classified Staff Council's monthly meeting.
