As part of its ongoing community partnerships with local non-profits, UNC's President's Leadership Program recently donated $400 - the proceeds from a PLP-sponsored open microphone night - to A Woman's Place, a safe shelter in Greeley for survivors of domestic violence.
More than 20 students took the stage at Zoe's Café in downtown Greeley during the Nov. 13 fundraising event, which was attended by members of both the UNC and Greeley communities.
PLP is a four-year selective, academic-based leadership program that trains students in leadership theory and practice through traditional classes, leadership seminars, workshops, practice and mentoring relationships.
More information about the program is available on its website.
