Test of Emergency Alert System Postponed Until Oct. 16

The test of UNC's Emergency Alert System scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, has been postponed until Oct. 16. For more information about the system, including how to sign up to receive emergency alert messages on your cell phone, visit the Emergency Alert System website.

Cans to Candelaria 5K Run

Grab your running shoes! The Student Dietetic Association will hold a 5K race 8 a.m. tomorrow to raise money for the Weld County Food Bank. Race day registrations will be accepted. Cost is $25 for adults, $15 for kids12 and under.

Engaged Scholarship Symposium Proposals Due Oct. 15

The Community Engaged Scholars Symposium seeks proposals for presentations during the seventh annual symposium on Nov. 12 in the University Center ballrooms. Proposals are due by Friday, Oct. 15.

Individuals, groups and organizations from the UNC and Weld County communities involved with regional or global community-based research, partnerships and other activities that connect academic knowledge to practice are encouraged to participate.

Poster presentations, demonstration projects, round table discussions and other formats can be used to showcase projects and initiatives, facilitate networking among participants and recognize excellence in the symposium's interactive setting.

An application form and additional information about the symposium is available on the event website.

Engaged Scholarship Awards
Nominations for the Engaged Scholarship Awards, which will be presented during the symposium, also are sought.

Study Abroad Applications for Spring Semester Due Oct. 1

Anyone planning on or thinking about participation in a UNC Study Abroad opportunity during spring semester must submit applications to the Center for International Education in the UC by Tuesday, Oct. 1. Free Flu Shots for UNC Students Sept. 18

Protect yourself from the flu! Free flu shots available today from noon-2 p.m. in the Human Resources Office (Carter Hall 2002) for any student with a current UNC ID Card. Upcoming flu shot clinics offered by the Student Health Center include:
