Back to Around Campus Archives
Around Campus is taking advantage of the winter break and chilling out for a few weeks. It will return the second week in January. Have a great break and a wonderful holiday season!
Instead of selling your textbooks or packing them away and never using them again, consider donating them to UNC Veterans Services' new Boots to Books program, which will allow veteran- and military-connected students to readily access books if they experience delays receiving VA book stipend benefits.
If you have recent or used editions of textbooks for courses that are currently offered at UNC and want to help out a fellow UNC student who's served his or her country or is a dependent of someone who did, drop them by Veterans Services in Roudebush Cottage, just east of Gray Hall.
For more information, contact Veterans Services at 351-1403.
To accommodate students moving out of residence halls, on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 13 and 14, vehicles parked in regular parking spaces or metered spaces will not be ticketed in the following parking lots: C, I, J, Q, T, U, V, Z-south, Z-west and 9th Avenue. All other lots and areas will be enforced. For more information, contact Parking Services at 351-1971.
Both the men and women's basketball teams will play at home during the winter break, so if you're around Greeley, come on out and support them. The men's team takes on Tabor State Dec. 17, and the lady Bears will play their first break game on Dec. 22 in Butler-Hancock against North Dakota. Women's basketball play continues on Dec. 30, Jan. 3 and Jan. 5. Bring your student ID to get in free. Check out the "Sports" link in the "Upcoming Events" section at the top of the page for more information.
