Registration for UNC's 2012-13 Interim Session, which runs from Dec. 17-Jan. 11, is now open. Students in good academic standing who could benefit from earning credits over the Holiday Break are encouraged to consult the Interim Schedule of courses. All courses are offered only online. The requirement of earning 24 credit hours before being eligible to take Interim Session classes has been lifted.
High school students are elibible to take the following courses for credit (courses not covered by the Concurrent Enrollment Plan; information on costs here).

The GLBTA Resource Office can provide a panel of students involved in the GLBTA community to share their experiences with student organizations, classes and other groups on campus. Participation on a panel by other members of the campus community is welcome. Calling all gamers! University Program Council presents the Madden NFL 13' Xbox Tournament 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the University Center's, Columbine and Aspen suites.
There'll be a 64-person bracket, free food and a shot at winning a brand-new Xbox 360 system and a copy of the Madden NFL 13 game. Sign up for your spot here.
UNC now has a social media portal at www.unco.edu/social/ containing links to approved social media pages for UNC programs, departments, offices and other entities. If you have an active Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or other social media page you would like listed on the portal, visit Web Communications' website to find out how to get it added.
The site contains the required approval form to create social media pages, guidelines and best practices for creating them, and a training video.
Students, alumni and employees are encouraged to contribute posts to UNC's Facebook page.
The Undergraduate Research Journal is calling for submissions for its spring 2013 issue, with a deadline of Dec. 1. The URJ is an interdisciplinary refereed journal that strives to recognize UNC undergraduates for their scholarly accomplishments and to stimulate their future scholarly activity. Authors must be undergraduates at UNC or must have conducted research considered for publication while an undergraduate at UNC. For more information, visit the URJ website.
