Career Services will host its annual Fall Job and Internship Fair for UNC students from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the University Center ballrooms. There is no fee for candidates to attend this event. Approximately 70 organizations are scheduled to attend.
Job and internship seekers will be able to connect with employers from a variety of industries including: banking and financial services, communications and media, non-profit, general business/business services, government, military, insurance, retail, and technology.

Juniors and seniors majoring in Communication Studies are invited to an Alumni Meet and Greet from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Candelaria 1260. There'll be opportunities for career advising, networking, questions and answers and meeting with your advisor. Light refreshments will be available. Enjoy a 5k run or walk with UNC's Black Men of Today starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, outside Holmes Dining Hall. All proceeds will benefit breast cancer research. Registration is $5 for students and $10 for non-students. All participants will get a thank you gift and will be automatically entered in a raffle for a new iPod. Sign up here.
Due to a room scheduling conflict, the Colorado Combined Campaign Chili Cook-Off has been moved to Tuesday, Dec. 4, same time (11 a.m-1 p.m.) and same place (University Center ballrooms). Visit with local charities and members of the UNC community while you eat a variety of homemade chili and freshly-baked cinnamon rolls for $3.
If you make an awesome chili, enter before 4 p.m. Friday, Nov.30, by emailing Lori Brachtenbach.
Trophies will be awarded for the most unique, best green and best red chili.
Participant and facilitator applications are now being accepted for Catalyst, UNC's annual social justice retreat, Jan. 18-20 in Estes Park. The retreat, which is free and open to all members of the UNC community, brings together students, faculty, and staff to engage in meaningful dialogue around diversity and social action, and gives students the skills to act on the issues and causes that they're most passionate about.
The deadline to apply to facilitate is Wednesday, Oct. 31; the deadline to apply to participate is Friday, Nov. 9.For application forms and additional information, visit the Catalyst website.

Help the Resident Hall Association offer local children a safe Halloween activity during "Safe Trunk or Treat" from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in C-lot south of the University Center. All you have to do is bring your vehicle to C-lot, decorate it and/or your space and give out candy.
If you want, you can set up a game or activity. If you don't have a vehicle to park and decorate, a table and chairs can be provided; just indicated you need them in the Notes section when you sign up here.
UNC Radio will be on hand to spin some spooky fun and hot chocolate will be provided. There'll also be a contest for the best decorated, most interactive and best UNC pride entries.
