The National Science Foundation has awarded a $300,000 grant to UNC Mathematics faculty Jodie Novak and Frieda Parker for a pilot project to implement and evaluate a teacher leader development model for improving STEM education. Novak and Parker will employ a two-tier model, similar to the approach used in management, that will include professional development for elementary math teachers.
