Formerly Dean of the College of Performing and Visual Arts and current professor of Art. Specialist in Art History, Japanese and Chinese Art History, Aesthetics, Arts Administration, and Public Art Policy. Previously Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Winthrop University, President of the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and Assistant Director of the Museum of the City of New York. Received his Ph.D. in art education from Pennsylvania State University and has taught art education, museum education, art history, arts administration, aesthetics and studio art. He was a Fulbright scholar to Japan in 2007 and to Ukraine in 2010. He is the author of “Thirty Works of Art Every Student Should Know” and “Readings in Art Appreciation.”
