Professor of Sport and Exercise Science. Specialist in outdoor programs, challenge ropes courses, opportunities for underserved youth and programs that promote responsibility, sense of community and caring. Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in: serving diverse populations, outdoor and adventure programming, curriculum and youth development. Of particular interest are factors that influence the well-being of youngsters and how these factors interact with youngsters' time in and out of school (e.g., perceptions of empowerment among participants and leaders in after-school programs).
