Professor of English and Women's Studies. Specialist in women's literature, especially Margaret Atwood, and fairy tales and mythology in literature. Founding president of the Margaret Atwood Society and president of the Doris Lessing Society. Author of "Myths and Fairy Tales in Contemporary Women's Fiction," "Margaret Atwood's Fairy-Tale Sexual Politics," co-editor of "Approaches to Teaching Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale' and Other Works" and editor of "Margaret Atwood's Textual Assassinations: Recent Poetry and Fiction." Winner of the Margaret Atwood Society Best Book 2003 Award.
