UNC to Host Annual State Piano Festival Nov. 17-18

The University of Northern Colorado's College of Performing and Visual Arts will host the fifth annual Colorado Piano Festival Nov. 17-18, featuring two days of concerts, master classes, workshops and a pre-college solo piano competition.

All events are open to the public free of charge. The festival's highlights include:

  • Guest artist Norman Krieger, professor of Keyboard Studies at the University of Southern California, will present a solo recital at 8 p.m., Nov. 17 in Hensel-Phelps Hall at the Union Colony Civic Center.
  • The final round of the pre-college solo competition takes place from 9 a.m.-noon Sunday, Nov. 18, at the UCCC.
  • Piano faculty from UNC's School of Music will perform a program featuring solo pianists and chamber ensembles at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the UCCC.
