First-Time Home Buyer Classes Scheduled

Off-Campus Life is offering the First-Time Home Buyer class three times during fall semester: on Wednesday, Sept. 13; Tuesday, Oct. 10; and Wednesday, Nov. 15. The class meets 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the University Center's Spruce C room.

The class will help you understand the process of purchasing a home and provide you with the building blocks to achieve your goals on the path to homeownership. Classes are open to everyone interested in knowing more about homeownership in the greater Greeley area, but especially if you're currently renting and graduating soon.

The class is $10 for UNC students, staff and faculty, and $5 for each UNC affiliate guest attendee. Space is limited to the first 20 registrants.

Topics will include:

  • From start to finish, the process to buy your home
  • How to find the right realtor and what they do
  • Why real estate is an excellent personal investment
  • How to talk with a lender and understanding financing, down payments and credit
  • Understanding appraisals and inspections

No high-pressure sales tactics and no personal information is being provided to any real estate groups or professionals.
