UNC to Host Sixth Annual Women's Health Forum

The University of Northern Colorado's College of Health and Human Sciences will host the Sixth Annual Women's Health Forum: What Every Woman Should Know June 25 in the University Center Ballroom, intersection of 10th Avenue and 20th Street. Check-in will be at 8 a.m., and the program will be from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

This year’s forum will highlight the Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation Institute and focus on prevention, screening and treatment of cancers common to women, such as breast and ovarian cancer. Dr. Doug Kemme will give the keynote address on "Good News About Cancer Research." Session I: Screening Checkpoints will feature "Breast Cancer," presented by Dr. Marj Wiedeman, and "Estrogen Issues," presented by Dr. Beverly Donnelley. Session II: Prevention Checkpoints will feature "Nutrition," presented by professor Jamie Esrkine, and "Physical Activity," presented by professor Carole Schneider.

The program concludes with lunch and "Living the Health Care Question," presented by Vivian Otteman, legislative assistant for Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell. Tours of the Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation will be available after the luncheon.
