UNC To Dedicate Monfort Plaza and Technology Center

The University of Northern Colorado's Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business will host a dedication of the Monfort Plaza and Technology Center at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the plaza north of Kepner Hall.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open new facilities and unveil a statue of Ken Monfort, the college's namesake. The Monfort Family Foundation donated $10.5 million to UNC in July 1999 in his name.
Speakers will include UNC President Hank Brown, Dick Monfort, MCB Dean Robert Lynch and Professor Gerald Shadwick.
"Ken Monfort's Contributions to this community and Colorado serve as wonderful examples for our students to follow," Lynch said. "This Plaza serves as a constant reminder of the service and generosity the Monfort family has made to the university and this community."
Following the brief ceremony, the public is invited to tours of some of the new facilities in Kepner Hall, including the Technology Center, Team Practice/Presentation Rooms, a Finance Trading Room, a Network Development Laboratory, a Cybercafe, Smart Classrooms and an Entrepreneurship Center.
Presidents of business-student clubs will lead the tours.
