Summer at UNC: Classes, Community Events, Camps and More

The University of Northern Colorado this summer will offer more than 300 classes and a variety of community events along with academic, arts, music and sports camps for all ages.

Classes over six-, eight- and 12-week sessions begin May 20. Registration is still open. Visit http://www.unco.edu/summer for details.

  • The university also offers affordable options for private gatherings such as family reunions, weddings and wedding anniversary parties. Indoor conference facilities and meeting rooms, beautiful outdoor wedding or party venues, catering services, dining rooms, convenience food outlets and a recreation center are among the amenities available.   • The university also offers nightly hotel-style accommodations during the summer in North Hall, a residence hall featuring suites accommodating up to four persons. Built in 2009, the spacious, air-conditioned suites include 2-3 bedrooms, a bathroom and a living area.

UNC Baseball: Bears Take Conference Regular-Season Crown

UNC's baseball team ended Great West Conference regular-season play Saturday with an eight-game winning streak that earned them the conference crown. The Bears will face eighth-seeded Chicago State in their first game of the GWC Tournament tomorrow, May 21, at 12:15 pm (ET) at Riverfront Stadium in Newark, N.J. Continue Reading.

UNC to Host USA Women’s Rugby Team

The University of Northern Colorado will host the USA Women's Rugby National Team during a camp for the top 60 players beginning Saturday, May 18, through Sunday, May 26. The camp will include scrimmages at the Butler-Hancock practice fields. For more details visit: http://usawomensrugby.org/top-60-camp-roster-named/. It's one of four national rugby camps that will be held on campus throughout the summer. Stars & Stripes (high school boys and girls, July 9-13), Collegiate All-Stars (female, July 18-21) and the USA Rugby Nation's Cup (July 28-Aug. 12), which features competition among four women's national teams: USA, Canada, South Africa and England.

Little Theatre of the Rockies Tickets Available

Individual performance tickets and season subscriptions are now available for the 2013 season of UNC's Little Theatre of the Rockies, which will include performances of The Fantasticks, On Golden Pond, Private Lives, Little Shop of Horrors and Escanaba in da Moonlight. LTR is the oldest continually operating professional theater company in Colorado and one of the oldest in the nation. Student Employee Accounts Expire May 31

All student employee accounts (firstname.lastname@unco.edu) are set to expire May 31. If you have student employees who will be working this summer and would like their account access extended through Aug. 31, send an email to Technical Support with the student's first and last name (e.g., John Doe).

Additionally, include the names of students who are no longer working for your department with the word "Delete" (e.g., John Doe - Delete) so their access to employee resources can be removed.

Do not include students' Bear Numbers.

Assessment Project Mini-Grants Applications Due May 31

Applications for assessment project mini-grants are due May 31. The Office of Assessment and the University Assessment Council invite applications from individuals, programs or departments. The grants can be used to develop or improve assessment practices related to course or program-level student learning outcomes assessment. Complete details can be found on the Office of Assessment website.

UNC Golf League Resurrected; Play Starts May 21

The UNC Golf League is back by popular demand. League play will be on Tuesdays at the Mad Russian Golf Course in Milliken beginning May 21. A 5 p.m. shotgun start will be used. Price per player is $14 to walk or $21 for a cart. Individual players will be put with a team. Please email Chris Peterson if you plan to play.
