UNC Students to Assist in Relief Efforts in Puerto Rico

The group of 22 students, led by UNC graduate student Gabe Christie and UNC junior Mallory Gibson, will work on a host of projects in Puerto Rico over spring break. Their tasks will include planting trees, repairing roofs of buildings and rebuilding other structures. IRS Releases Updated Withholding Calculator and 2018 W4

Following the major changes in the tax law, the IRS encourages employees to check their Paychecks to help ensure they're having the right amount of tax withheld for their personal situation. The IRS urges taxpayers to use the IRS Calculator to make sure the they are having the right amount taken from their paychecks. The IRS calculator can be found here.

Call for Proposals: 2018 Summer Support Initiative (SSI)

The AVP for Research and the Faculty Research and Publications Board (FRPB) invite Summer Support Initiative (SSI) applications to support grant writing, research, scholarship, and creative works projects. Awards of up to $6,000 plus fringe benefits will be made on a competitive basis. The application deadline is noon on Friday, March 9. Service Milestone Verification Needed for Staff Recognition Banquet

The 47th annual Staff Recognition Banquet, which includes recognition of service milestones achieved by staff during 2017, will he held March 26. Please review the awardee list (PDF) and contact Julie Nava, 351-2621, by Friday, March 9, with corrections, including name adjustments.

Call for Assessment Fair Proposals

The University Assessment Council invites poster presentations for the 2018 Assessment Fair, which will be held at the University Center on March 28. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to share research and best practices on ways they and their programs have used assessment to improve student learning and program quality. Please note, all presentations for the 2018 Assessment Fair will be poster format, with one poster session in the afternoon from 1-2 pm. Submissions will be accepted through March 9, 2018.
