Call for Nominations: Inspiring Women Awards

If you know an inspiring woman at UNC who has a lasting effect on those around her and positively impacts the university community, nominate her for a 2013 Inspiring Women Award by Friday, March 29. An award is given in three categories: faculty, staff and student.

Additional information and a nomination form are available on the Women's Resource Center website or can be picked up at the WRC in Scott-Willcoxon Hall.

'Ask the IRB' Workshop March 29

The Institutional Review Board will present "Ask the IRB" from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Friday, March 29, in the banquet room in Tobey-Kendall Hall. IRB co-chairs Maria Lahman and Megan Babkes Stellino, and IRB administrator Sherry May will lead an informal, interactive session that will provide updates of regulatory requirements, as well as an opportunity to discuss any issues or problems related to expedited or exempt research protocol applications.

All faculty, staff and students who are involved in research are welcome to attend. The first 20 people to RSVP will receive a complementary lunch.

Bears Basketball: Men's, Women's Teams Both in Big Sky Semi-Finals

The men's basketball team defeated Montana State 69-56 last night in the first round of Big Sky Championship play in Missoula, Mont., and will play regular-season champions Montana at 8 p.m. today, March 15, in the semifinals. The women's team, also playing in Missoula, takes on Eastern Washington in semifinal action at 11 a.m. today.

Here's how you can follow the action for both games:

Women's Game - Friday, March 15, 11 a.m.

Men's Game - Friday, March 15, 8 p.m.

Free registration for the live streaming video shortly before the game is recommended if you don't already have a "season pass" for America One Sports' feeds of Big Sky Conference games.

Door Volunteers Needed for Teacher Employment Days

Career Services seeks faculty and staff volunteers during Teacher Employment Days April 4-5 to check attendee and employer credentials at entrance doors and answer general questions. Shifts are available between 7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days. Sign up for one or multiple 1.25-hour shifts here.

Teacher Employment Days is the largest job fair for teachers and educational administrators in the Rocky Mountain region.
