Book Campus Spaces Online

The campus community can now reserve spaces online through Conference & Event Services. Visit http://www.unco.edu/events and click on the first option under "Start Here." As a reminder, notification three business days prior to the requested event is required. Although every effort is made to accommodate urgent and unique situations, requests made less than three days from the event may not be fulfilled.

Copyright and Fair Use for Scholars Workshop

The Copyright and Fair Use for Scholars workshop demystifies the legalese of U.S. copyright law. The session, 4-5:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in Michener Library (room 303), addresses copyright questions commonly encountered in the academic roles of researcher, teacher and author. Learn how and when to use powerful Fair Use evaluation tools and when to use alternative strategies to comply with copyright law.

Nominations Sought for 2018 Award for Excellence in Social Science Engaged Research

The Office of Research seeks nominations for the 2018 Award for Excellence in Social Science Engaged Research, with nominations and applications due March 23. Faculty in social science and social science-associated disciplines are eligible to apply. More details are available on the Office of Research website.

Call for Proposals: FRPB New Project Program

The Faculty Research and Publications Board invites faculty members who hold at least a .50 FTE appointment to submit proposals to the New Project Program, with a deadline of 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21. The New Projects Grant Program provides seed money for individual or group projects that are at the initial stages of a research or creative program. Ongoing work will not be considered for NPP funding. Preference will be given to initial or pilot work intended to result in external funding to support continuation and expansion of the research. Each NPP grant will be limited to a maximum award of $5,000. Proposal guidelines and forms are available on the Office of Research website. For more information, contact your FRPB representative.

Power down. Use power-saving mode on your laptop and set printer defaults to double-sided and grey scale printing this week (or reduce printing all together J ).
