UNC’s Future Teacher Conference Continues to Grow

The state's leader in preparing educators, the University of Northern Colorado will host the fourth annual Future Teacher Conference on Feb. 23. A capacity crowd is expected once again this year, with more than 500 high school and community college students registered. Emergency Alert System to be Tested Feb. 21

A test of UNC's Emergency Alert Messaging System will be conducted about noon on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The test message will be sent to UNC email accounts, text-enabled campus phones, subscribed cell phones (text message) and campus emergency poles. If you want to sign up to receive emergency alert text messages on your cell phone or if your cell phone number changed recently, instructions are available on the Emergency Alert System website.

Finance, Administration Offices to Offer Training for Employees

Opportunities Feb. 14 and 21 will be provided for new and existing employees to learn more about policies, procedures and tips for purchasing and contracts, information management and technology, budgets, human resources, and payroll. Slavery and Anti-Slavery: A Transnational Archive

The University Libraries has acquired online access to Slavery and Anti-Slavery: A Transnational Archive, a collection of cross-searchable and digitized books, serials, U.S. Supreme Court records and briefs, and key manuscript collections. This collection is a historical archive that embraces the scholarly study of slavery in a comprehensive, conceptual and global way. It contains over five million pages of documents organized in four parts: Debates over Slavery and Abolition, Slave Trade in the Atlantic World, the Institution of Slavery, and the Age of Emancipation.

UNC Trustees to Meet Wednesday to Discuss Presidential Search

The Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the Council Room of the University Center. At the start of the meeting, the trustees, who will be joined by the presidential search committee, will adjourn into executive session, pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402 (3.5), to discuss confidential information relating to potential candidates.
