Campus Scheduling Going Paperless

Beginning Jan. 1, Conference and Event Services (CES) will transition to a paperless reservation request process for campus spaces (classrooms, outdoor spaces, gyms, University Center rooms, etc.) by internal UNC customers. The goal of this change is to streamline the space request process and allow more sustainability for both CES staff and those needing a campus space.

Representatives of chartered student groups or UNC departments will now use the Qualtrics survey found at https://unco.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bpIszkbUwc71odT&Q_JFE=0 to initiate the space request process. Certain paper forms required by specific UNC offices (Environmental Health & Safety, UNC Police, etc.) will need to be completed.

All scheduling requests must be received at least three full business days in advance. Extended deadlines may apply for events requiring outdoor event permits, food service permits and UNC Catering services.

For more information please contact campus.scheduling@unco.edu or call 970-351-2558.

Winter Break Energy Conservation Tips

Winter break is a great time to save energy resources if you're going to be away, whether you live on or off campus. Before you leave for the break, look around and turn off any and all equipment that won't be in use while you're gone. Remember to:

  • Power your computer down (it's OK to turn it off every night unless a research project specifies otherwise)
  • If you use a separate computer monitor, use the power button to turn it all the way off
  • Turn off your personal desktop printer
  • Turn off any other little device: radio, calculator, speakers, etc.
  • Unplug any space heaters
  • Turn off the lights
  • Be sure all of your windows are closed
  • Turn down your thermostat, if applicable

Gov. John Hickenlooper last week announced that Dick Monfort and Christine Scanlan have been reappointed to the University of Northern Colorado's Board of Trustees, the university's governing body.

The UNC graduate, who spent 25 years in the cattle business, is an advocate for higher education. He has been involved with UNC since earning a bachelor's degree in business management in 1976.

Scanlan is president and chief executive officer of The Keystone Center, a Colorado nonprofit focused on collaborative and sustainable solutions to energy, environmental and health issues. She is responsible for the center's overall management and policy work.

Their reappointments begin Jan. 1 and will be confirmed by the state senate during the next legislative session.

UNC's Board of Trustees consists of seven members appointed by the governor, a faculty member elected by peers and a student elected by peers. For more information about the board, visit its website.
