Spring Concert Tickets on Sale; Volunteer to Get Free Admission

Tickets for the Spring Concert Ft. R&B Superstar JoJo and student opener Slake Dranksy are going fast. Buy your ticket for the Saturday, Feb. 24, concert today at or the University Center Info Desk. Prices are $7 (students) and $20 (all others). Also, volunteers who commit to and attend 3 or more hours of spring concert setup or take down receive free tickets to the Spring Concert along with the opportunity to meet the artist JoJo. Emergency Alert System to be Tested Feb. 21

A test of UNC's Emergency Alert Messaging System will be conducted about noon on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The test message will be sent to UNC email accounts, text-enabled campus phones, subscribed cell phones (text message) and campus emergency poles. If you want to sign up to receive emergency alert text messages on your cell phone or if your cell phone number changed recently, instructions are available on the Emergency Alert System website.

Important Dates for Upcoming Student Senate Election

Visit the Student Senate website for information for candidates and the entire timeline for the upcoming election, which begins April 3 and runs through April 5.

Submit Nominations for M. Lucile Harrison Award by Friday

Nominations for the M. Lucile Harrison Award, which recognizes a faculty member with a long career of professional excellence, are due in the Provost's office no later than Friday, Feb. 23. Nomination letters may be submitted by faculty, staff or students and include a letter of recommendation, two additional letters of support, and the nominee's current vita.

Submissions should be sent to by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23.

Review criteria include but are not limited to: evidence of excellence and innovation in teaching, a continuous record of peer reviewed nationally/internationally disseminated research, scholarship or creative works, service to program, university, discipline or community. More information, including criteria, a list of past recipients, and complete instructions for submitting a nomination are on the Provost's Office website.
