Invisible Content Updates

Some elements (like the <marquee> tag and some news "ticker" kinds of applications) provide a box of text that is updated. Any page element that changes content without notifying the user is problematic. They are often included to provide "visual interest" on a page, but remember that blind visitors cannot find those kinds of elements. If there is significant content embedded in those elements, chances are good that the blind visitor will not even notice them, let alone be able to determine the content. These page elements (elements that change content without telling the visitor) need to be avoided.
