Graphics Applications

Some graphics applications are actually compiled programs. These programs use graphic elements to control the functions of the application. Buttons for navigation, for example, or - in the case of message boards - adding, reading, or choosing messages lack alt-text information and so become impossible for screen readers to interpret correctly. If these applications are "locked" so the technical support staff are unable to modify the graphical elements, then these tools become inaccessible. If, on the other hand, the tools allows for user modification (users in this instance are the people in charge of the server and code), then these tools can be made accessible and there is no problem.
