Column 1:
Indicate the number of resident and non-resident students enrolled in each of the program categories (TSVI, O&M, Dual, Deafblind, Doctoral, or other categories) leading to a degree and/or certification between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07 (these students will NOT be enrolled as of 9/1/07). Include academic year, summer, and extension or distance education formats. DO NOT include individuals enrolled in courses who are NOT pursuing a degree and/or certification program.
Count a student only once in each cell. For example, you would select the best category that fits an individual student’s program of study (TSVI, O&M, Dual, Deafblind, Doctoral, or other categories).
Note: Additional categories have been added. You now have the option of selecting ONE of the following: Euro-American, Euro-American with Disability, Minority, or Minority with Disability.
Column 2:
Indicate the number of students in each of the program categories who completed their preparation for a degree and/or certification between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07 who are exiting the university. These students will NOT be enrolled on or after 9/1/07. DO NOT include those students leaving the program for reasons other than graduation (count those students under column 7 – leaving for other reasons).
If an individual completed requirements for one type of program in 2006-07, such as TSVI, and decided to continue at the college/university in O&M, indicate that he or she exited the TSVI program and also count him or her as enrolled in the O&M program if they began the coursework during this survey year. Otherwise include him or her in the next year’s O&M enrolled count.
For doctoral students, count them in column 2 IF THEY HAVE COMPLETED ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR DOCTORAL DEGREE (including defense of the dissertation), even if the degree has not actually been awarded.
Column 3:
Indicate the number of students in each of the program categories who completed all requirements for a Bachelor degree between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07. Include those individuals who may have completed their requirements during this time period, but whose degrees will not actually be awarded until later. These students may be counted both under column 2 as exiting with a degree/certification AND as earning a Bachelor degree. The numbers of Bachelor degrees should not exceed the number of persons exiting.
Column 4:
Number of students in each of the program categories who completed all requirements for a Master’s degree between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07. Include those individuals who may have completed their requirements during this time period, but whose degrees will not actually be awarded until later. These students may be counted both under column 2 as exiting with a degree/certification AND as earning a Master’s degree. The number of Master’s degrees should not exceed the number of persons exiting. Similarly, if the total number of Bachelor and Master’s degrees should not exceed the number exiting in column 2.
Column 5:
Number of students in each program category who became eligible for YOUR State’s certification/endorsement/licensure between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07. DO NOT include individuals who became eligible for temporary or emergency certificates; the key concept here is identification of the number of individuals who achieved your state’s full certification/endorsement/licensure.
Column 6:
Number of students eligible for certification from the Academy as an O&M specialist, between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07, regardless of whether the person actually applies.
Column 7:
If there were other individuals enrolled in your program between 9-1-06 and 8-31-07, who left the program for some other reason, include them here.
