IDEA Part (A)(c)(5)
Over 20 years of research and experience has demonstrated
that the education of children with disabilities can be made more effective
by (A) having higher expectations for such children and ensuring their access
in the general curriculum to the maximum extent possible.
Section 300.346 (a)(1)(i) In developing each child's IEP, the IEP team, shall
consider-
(i) the strengths of the child and concerns of the parents for enhancing the
education of their child.
Section 300.347(a)(2)(i) The IEP for each child with a disability must include
a statement of measurable annual goals, including benchmarks or short-term objectives,
related to meeting the child's needs that result from the child's disability
to enable the child to be involved in and progress in the general curriculum
(i.e. the same curriculum as for nondisabled children)
