Pop-Up IEP
10. "We can’t get a certified teacher of students who are
blind or visually impaired/orientation and mobility specialist (TVI/O&M)
to come way out here!” or “Since our TVI/O&M has a large caseload, we
can only provide _____ hours/minutes of services per week. "
- Acknowledge the shortage while insisting every effort is made to solve the problem.
- Offer suggestions, such as places to advertise (university programs that
train TVIs/O&Ms)*, adding financial incentives, sharing a teacher, or
other additional resources.
- If you disagree with the IEP, make sure to include a written statement
noting your objections. Unless indicated otherwise, signing the IEP indicates
attendance, but not necessarily agreement.
