Past Schulze Chairs
Thomas Simon, Ph.D., J.D. University of Illinois, whose scholarly work includes the book Justice and Genocide. Dr. Simon taught a course entitled: “Ideas in Conflict: Religion and Violence.”
- Dr. Elizabeth Ermarth, Ph.D., English, University of Chicago, focused her work on postmodern developments in the Arts and Sciences and taught a course on the cultural history of Eurocentric society.
- The Schulze Fund has co-sponsored faculty workshops with themes such as “Music and the World of Improvisation” and “Globalization and the Environment. ”
- Recent Schulze Lectures have been offered by Stephan Petranek, Editor in Chief of Discover magazine who lectured on “Ten Ways the World Could End Suddenly,” and Dr. Alberto Garrido Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain, who lectured on “Socioeconomic and Environmental Issues in 21st Century Spain.”
