Biography

I am a senior here at the University of Northern Colorado. I am a proud member of the Mexican-American Studies club.  Last year I was able to support our campus community through events and inclusive conversations. I am also a Stryker scholar recipient; the Stryker Institute for Leadership and Development program has encouraged me to lead, and lead through my identities. Thus, I took a leap and applied to join the McNair Scholars Program. Through the help of McNair and my research, I hope to continue leading through my experiences and help validate the experiences of others, such as first-generation, Mexican-American, and/or DACA students. I truly believe it is imperative to understand the identities and struggles of all humans to make a more inclusive society. In addition, I aspire to bring research to mainstream channels, sharing research results to those communities it affects the most in a way that can be easily understood and help others move forward.
