Biography

My name is Everardo Francisco Reyes and I was raised in Colorado. I am majoring in Sociology and my goal is to attend graduate school and earn a Ph.D. in Sociology. I love Jazz, reading, and writing. I am an avid musician and currently play Saxophone, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Trumpet, Piano, Accordion, and sing. From 2012-2013, I was the Community Leader for the Music Department at Concrete Couch, a non-profit organization in Colorado Springs that provided free music programs for the community. While living abroad in Japan in 2013-2015, I created a free community program that taught English through the music of The Beatles to the Japanese community. I am very grateful to be a part of the McNair Scholars Program.
