Services and Resources for Graduate Students

Are you teaching a class? If so, you'll also want to check out the information about Reserve Services & Online Readings and Library Instruction on the Services for Faculty page.

Please note that graduate students need to have a UNC Card (available from the UNC Card Office in the University Center) in order to check out materials. In addition, a Bear number is required to access online library resources.

Information of specific interest to graduate students may be found through the following links:

Tools are available on the Libraries web site to assist you in finding resources for your research:

  • To find books, curriculum materials, and media materials such as CDs and DVDs in the Libraries collections, perform a search in The Source library catalog
  • To identify articles on a topic from a variety of journals and other resources, select an appropriate database from one of the subject lists on the Articles & More page
  • If you already have one or more article citations and now need to see if UNC Libraries has access to specific journal titles, perform a journal title search from the Journal Titles tab on the home page
  • Reserve readings from professors are found through the Reserves tab on the Libraries website; more information is available on the Course Reserves page
