A. M. and Jo Winchester Award

The Winchester award, created in 1972 through an endowment by Emeritus Professor A.M. Winchester, recognizes a faculty or staff member who’s been at UNC more than five years and has demonstrated outstanding scholarly performance on a consistent basis throughout his or her academic career. Its recipient is selected by the Faculty Research and Publication Board of the Office of Sponsored Programs. The A. M. and Jo Winchester Award carries a monetary prize. The winner of the award is expected to present a scholarly speech at a dinner held at the time the award is presented.

M. Lucille Harrison Outstanding Professor

Harrison, M. Lucile Award (for distinguished teaching). The university’s top faculty honor, awarded each year by the Office of the Provost, recognizes a faculty member with a long career of professional excellence in teaching as well as in professional activity and service, all accomplishments that marked the career of M.
