Summer School Bulletins and Brochures

Summer School was a major part of the activity of this institution for many years. During the 1960's, for example, it was said that enrollment was twice that of the normal academic year. In addition, considerable public activity with well known speakers and artistic presentations occurred during the summer sessions.

This file includes the collection of published Bulletins for summer sessions. The first such Bulletin is for 1904. There is one copy for nearly every year. An inventory sheet is available for the original copies with some notations as to photographs.

Also on file are short, often single sheet, brochures. These include course descriptions, pictures of faculty, advanced courses on nursing education, industrial education, the arts, social studies, band-orchestra-chorus at the Rocky Mountain Music Camp, the Rocky Mountain School of the Dance, a special session for 1939 for summer school in Greeley and a visit to the New York and San Francisco Fairs. There is one brochure for "Life Problems of the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains" taught by James Michener in 1941.
