University Archives: RG1 TRUSTEES
S10  Codification. 1988-1996

In the early 1980's, President Dickeson began an effort to put all university policies, rules and regulations into a single document.  Individual administrative staff members were assigned to gather together all existing documents and to put them into a codified order.  This resulted in a two volume set with eight chapters entitled "working edition."  About 25 copies were produced and distributed within the university in 1986.

After consideration by staff and some faculty members, Chapters 1, 2 and 4-8 were sent to the Board of Trustees for adoption in the Spring of 1988.  Chapter 3, covering faculty, not yet approved by the Faculty Senate, was agreed to later, submitted to the Trustees and adopted in August 1988.
