In keeping with our emphasis on real-world experience even our beginning newswriting course is conducted in the journalism writing lab and emphasizes writing by deadline. Students later take courses in advanced newswriting, creation of public relations or advertising materials, or television news. Other courses round out our students’ education, not only in the practice of professional techniques but in the understanding and assessment of the mass media.
