Amy Reitz has several years of industry experience working in public relations, advertising and marketing in both agencies and organizations. She has worked in corporate communications in several industries including high-tech, government, publishing, finance and entertainment. Amy has extensive experience in campaign development, event planning, media relations, market research and ad copy and design. Her specialty is online promotion, specifically social media (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, blogs and the like), search engine optimization, lead generation and web site design and usability.
Amy brings her deep knowledge and passion for strategic corporate communications into the classroom. She teaches a variety of public relations and advertising courses in the Journalism and Mass Communication department. She enjoys teaching the history and traditional public relations tactics but loves teaching and learning about new technology and how new technology is shaping the future of public relations, advertising and marketing.
Her research interest focuses on consumer behavior in new technology as well as organizational-public relationships in mediated spaces. Specifically, Amy is interested in online consumer engagement and what leads up to engagement and what happens after engagement. Additionally, Amy is interested in digital methodology including online surveys, content analysis, participant observation, interviews and ethnography.
