Microsoft Windows 7 SP1
STATUS: Phase 4 - Campus Deployment
Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 is currently the preferred Windows Operating System. It has been deployed to 80% of all Windows based computers on campus. If you're interested in upgrading to Windows 7 contact the Technical Support Center at (970) 351-4357 and submit a support request. There is no charge to upgrade to Windows 7 on University owned computers. Windows 7 can be purchased from Bear Logic for home and personal computers. Apple OS X Lion

Mac OS X Lion is currently the preferred configuration for campus Apple computers. OS X Lion can be purchased from Bear Logic for home and personal computers. Microsoft Office 2010 is currently the preferred Microsoft Office system. It has been deployed to 70% of all Windows based computers on campus. Microsoft Office 2011 for Macintosh is currently the preferred office system for Apple computers. Office 2011 has also been deployed to lab and classroom computers. There is no software charge to upgrade to Office 2011 on University owned Apple computers. Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010
STATUS: Phase 4 - Campus Deployment
A majority of all existing SharePoint sites have been migrated to Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010. All new SharePoint site requests are being created in SharePoint 2010. All SharePoint sites that have not been accessed or changed for over one year are being audited to determine whether or not they are still needed.
Apple OS X Mountain Lion
Status: Phase 3 - Early Adopters
Mac OS X Mountain Lion is currently being tested by the Innovative Technology Committee members as well as on all Apple computers purchased after the software was released. The Apple enterprise server environment will required an update to the new OS to fully manage the Apple OS X Mountain Lion client machines. Once fully supported institutional purchases of Apple OS X Mountain Lion will be purchased directly from Bear Logic not through the Apple Store. There is a currently known compatibility issue with the Network Connect client prohibiting users to VPN from off campus. There is also a known compatibility issue with Checkpoint full disk encryption.
Microsoft Windows 8
STATUS: Phase 2 - Detailed Testing and Compatibility
Microsoft Windows 8 is being researched and evaluated internally by the Innovative Technology Committee. The Innovative Technology Committee will proceed with the detailed testing and compatibility phase. We hope to include early adopters during the spring semester. Currently there are known issues with certain wireless card drivers.
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Enterprise
STATUS: Phase 2 - Detailed Testing and Compatibility
A project is currently underway to upgrade the existing SharePoint environment to SharePoint 2010 Enterprise. As part of the project each college and administrative department will receive a new top level SharePoint site. The project team will meet with each college and administrative department individually to schedule the upgrade.
Microsoft Office 2013
STATUS: Phase 1 - Technical Overview & Research
Office 2013 is currently being researched and evaluated on tech preview format. Additional testing will begin once the software has been released to manufacturing.
