Learning Management System (Blackboard)
As mentioned, the Learning Management System (LMS) we use currently is Blackboard, and as of Summer 2010 we are working on version 9.0. This online system provides an academic format that is more flexible than a traditional classroom and several tools which enhances the academic mission of the university.
For the 2009-2010 academic year we used Blackboard version 7.3, which enabled the use of Technical Support calls and processes in determining issues, service needs, and overall functionality of the Blackboard system. With Blackboard version 9.0, we are expanding to include information on actual usage of the system and overall performance. As we continue to expand our use of the LMS options we will pursue additional statistical information as a tool to project future needs of the online learning clients.
