UNC Summer Billing and Connection Information

The costs to utilize the UNC ResNet service for May 10th through August 18th are as follows:

UNC STUDENT: FREE             SUMMER CAMP PARTICIPANT : $34.00

Directions for UNC Students to Connect to UNC ResNet.

1. Check your computer with the UNC ResNet minimum system requirements.
   
   Macintosh             Windows
    
2. Install an Ethernet Network Card and Cat 5 Patch cable.
   
   Installation services are available at Bear Logic Your Campus Technology Store .  The service fee of $25.00 covers the installation of the network card.  Special Note:   This price does not include the cost of the network card, only the installation of the card.  Network cards and patch cables can be purchased from Bear Logic.
    
3. Configure your Computer
   
   Macintosh
   Windows 95/98
   Windows 2000
   Windows Millennium
   Windows XP-- No Configuration Needed
    
4. Plug your computer into the ResNet jack. 
   
        Hints to know which jack it is:
        it looks like a phone jack but the plug area is larger than a phone cord plug
        it will be labeled with letters and numbers
        it may have multiple plugs openings
        it may be red in color (Wilson, Decker, Gordon)
    
5. Contact the Technical Support Center at 351-4357 (During the hours of 7:00am - midnight, Monday through Friday). A technician will then gather your information and set you up to be activated.

Directions for CAMP PARTICIPANTS to connect to UNC ResNet.

1. Contact Roxie Wilson with Conference and Event Planning (351-1100).
   
   * If you are an individual paying for your service you will need to pay Roxie prior to the TSC setting up your access.
