The Price of Sex
(United States, 2011, 73 min.)

Official selection at the Amnesty International Film Festival, The Price of Sex documents young Eastern European women who have been duped into the sex-trafficking industry since the fall of communism. Directed and filmed by photojournalist Mimi Chakraova, each shot captures the emotional, physical, and psychological abuse that each victim faces.     Chakraova probes local, national, and federal law enforcement to see what preventive actions are taken to stop this epidemic; however, the word “corruption” continues to weave in and out of the confessions and interviews.
