Taxi to the Dark Side

(Afghanistan/Iraq/USA, 2007, 106 mins.)On December 5, 2002 an Afghan taxi driver named Dilawar was taken into military custody in Afghanistan.  On December 10, 2002, just five days later, Dilawar was pronounced dead.  United States Army documentation ruled that his death was due to a direct result of assaults and attacks he sustained at the hands of interrogators of the 519th Battalion of the US army during his stay at Bagram.  He is survived by his daughter, Bibi Rashida.  Dilawar was simply guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and for that he lost his life.  This documentary is his story, but it's reach is far greater
